Introspectively and physically; you become what you ingest. Metaphorically and subliminally; you showcase to others what you have already experienced in the world. Communicating new ideas has never come naturally; It takes practice, persistence, and patience.
However, If ‘vision’ can be adequately communicated, the underlying brand supporting the vision would physically, mentally, and spiritually be in harmony with the changes taking place in the world around us.
‘Branding’ has a branding problem. There is no consensus about how to define ‘brand’. Existing definitions are surveyed, they are argued to be inadequate, and new definitions are proposed. Brands are definitions. The definition of ‘brand’ is best understood as being synonymous with the term ‘definition’.
Your Brand is Your Reputation
You don’t get to choose your brand, the ones that try to define their brand, spend millions of dollars to keep the name alive. The Budweiser’s & Pepsi’s of the world have twisted the idea of what ‘brand reputation’ is. Through most of the 20th century, it has is been common to see a brand pay their way out of having a bad reputation. Just a quick look into Pepsi’s Number Fever or The Anheuser-Busch Dynasty will quickly reveal what these large companies are hiding behind their innocently happy brand names and trotting horse commercials.
In the same way the actions of an individual inherently define the subjective reputation of that person; a brand’s reputation, however subjective, can be derived from the inherent actions taken by the supporting community. Brands are definitions. Define the community and you have successfully defined the brand.
